  • RBO: 30 years of laughs squeezed into a week of bellyache

  • Fans of the venerable comedy troupe Rock et Belles Oreilles were treated to a 30-year retrospective airing on Radio-Canada.

    Along with the radio and TV specials, a huge collection of their material was made available on a new website designed for the occasion. LVL had a few laughs working with the legendary group in creating the website and mobile app. There is a RBOoooooGLE bar to help you find something specific, and you can keep classic audio quotes right in your pocket with the mobile apps for iPhone and Android.

  • Watch & Talk: Social TV is a new way of getting together

  • Nokia-Siemens Networks / 2011

  • Hosting a Superbowl weekend but some of your buddies live across the country? Or Academy Awards night? Watch & Talk lets you share the experience with chat, twitter feeds and more. All packaged in a seamless TV interface with windows that can detach and be used on mobile phones and Web browsers for a true multi-screen experience.

    This working prototype has been presented at numerous cable and ipTV conferences. LVL designed and implemented the user experience and graphic user interface.

  • Generation INC.: a show, a video magazine, a community... even a bus!

  • TELUS / Generation Inc / 2010-present

  • Feeding a new generation of small business owners hungry for tools, info, mentors, and peer interaction, Generation INC. is a TV program showcasing local businesses and the challenges they face. It’s also a community, with local events and Facebook and LinkedIn groups. And it’s a website “magazine” with exclusive videos and articles.

    LVL created the original concept for the show, produced the website, and even branded the roving tour bus.

  • Kaboum: Fun and games for kids and immature grown-ups

  • Télé-Québec / Pixcom / 2008-present

  • Based on the TV program for kids, the award-winning Kaboum website presents the show’s characters in animated form and offers a ton of games to play. For the past 3 years, new games and quests have been added, from mechanical puzzles and skateboarding doggy-doo dodging, to word games and superhero quests.

    LVL designed the games, and produced the off-the-wall, colourful, and fun animations.

  • Vestel: Music to your... eyes

  • LVL created a fresh and intuitive look for the music and video-on-demand service available through Vestel connected smart TVs. It features easy search by genre or name, album cover art, and personalized play lists.

    The tablet has everything on tap

  • The In-Store Tablet Experience app lets TELUS representatives guide clients through what’s new at TELUS using interactive Android tablets.

    The application brings to life TELUS’ 4G network, flexible data plans, current promotions, and more, as clients tap their way through new information and interactive demonstrations.

  • Zooville: Your field guide to the urban jungle

  • Radio-Canada / B-612 / Pop6 / 2010

  • A TV program for budding urban rangers, Zooville shines a light on the critters that live alongside us: squirrels, pigeons, raccoons, and all sorts of other animals that normally get short shrift in nature shows. The website is two things in one. It’s an encyclopedia full of pictures, video, and activities. And it is an “edutaining” game quest that gets kids learning without trying, all the while encouraging responsible attitudes toward our fellow creatures.

    LVL designed and produced the website and games, as well as the TV app and mobile game for iPhone.

  • Thoroughly modern Minerva

  • Minerva Networks / 2009

  • The popular ipTV platform used in millions of homes got a fresh new face for its graphic user interface. Users can even customize their menus with a choice of 5 colour themes. While blue is classic and slick, the orange menu has attractions all its own.

    LVL redesigned and integrated the graphics and screen layouts for this redesign.

  • Quitters are winners

  • Acti-Menu / TELUS Health Solutions / 2010-2011

  • To accompany the popular annual Quick to Win! stop smoking campaign, LVL worked with doctors and event organizers to create a mobile app that would give some extra help to smokers deciding to butt out. Using the app is as simple as pressing a button to indicate how you’re feeling: Green for okay, yellow when you’re feeling tempted, and red when it’s situation critical. Your close supporters receive instant updates and can send you words of encouragement, or call you to make sure you don’t regress.

  • Fans of the prime time animated TV series Vie de Quartier (Life on the Block) could find out which character they most resemble on a TV app, submit anecdotes of their worst neighbour horror stories to the Web forum, or find the best neighbourhood bars and eateries – submitted by others – using their geolocalized iPhone and Android apps.

  • With its Flash-based TV middleware, Machblue offers a stunning way for users to navigate through program guides and video-on-demand on their TV sets. Used by numerous TV providers in North America, Europe, and Asia, Machblue stands out for its visual stylishness and ergonomics.

  • 30 Mobile:
    Put your best foot forward to get in shape

  • Acti Menu / TELUS / 2011

  • To accompany the popular annual Health and Wellness Challenge campaign, LVL worked with doctors and event organizers to create a mobile app that would track people’s daily physical exercise activities by way of a pedometer or manual entry screen. It included daily messages of encouragement from organizers, and a calendar to display daily progress over the contest’s six-week period.

  • Le Cercle: No trivial show

  • TVA / Pixcom / 2008-2011

  • LVL worked with the producers of the popular TV game show Le Cercle (The Circle) to create a truly all-encompassing transmedia experience. There is a TV app that lets fans answer questions using their TV remotes. There is a website with a multiplayer game and even a training program to bulk up the brain. And for  true trivia maniacs, mobile apps let them play while they’re on the go.

  • Karaoke TV: TV hits the high notes

  • What’s more fun than turning on your TV and belting out your favourite song, following lyrics displayed on your high def screen with music thundering out over your home theatre speakers? Great entertainment for gatherings of any kind. Or as your secret guilty pleasure. Warning: watch out for the kids early Saturday morning.

    LVL created a smart and easy-to-use prototype to showcase just how much fun this can be.

  • TIE: A world unto itself

  • Telus showcases its newest technologies and services in state-of-the-art facilities it calls innovation centres. LVL worked with TELUS to create a virtual portal that connects clients to these innovation centres with a Web experience that inspires as well as informs. But it’s more than just a portal: it’s an entire virtual city.

    Eco actions get the green light

  • LVL worked with producers of the award-winning animated series Walter’s World to create a fun Web experience for kids based on the show’s characters.

    To be the greenest citizen you would have to gather as many eco$ as you can by being green; planting trees, composting, taking care of your pet, building eco-friendly structures on and around your house, and avoiding harmful polluting products.
